Inviting Signers
Before you can send a document for signature, you need to invite the people who will sign it.
Adding signatories
- Open a document in Draft status.
- Click Invite.
- Choose who to invite:
- Client contact — select from your existing clients and contacts.
- Team member — select from your team users.
- Click Add to add them as a signatory.
You can invite multiple signatories to the same document.
Assigning fields to signatories
After inviting signatories, you need to assign signing fields to each one:
- Open the document editor.
- When placing or editing a signing field, select which signatory it belongs to.
- Each signatory is assigned a colour to make it easy to distinguish their fields visually.
- Signatories will only see and fill in their own assigned fields.
tip
Use different colours for each signatory to make the document layout clear at a glance.
Signing order
By default, all signatories can sign simultaneously. To set a sequential signing order:
- Open the document's invitation list.
- Set a signing order number for each signatory (1, 2, 3, etc.).
- Signatories will be notified in order — the next signatory only receives their invitation after the previous one has signed.
Example: In a contract between a service provider and a client:
- Signatory 1 (the provider) signs first.
- Signatory 2 (the client) receives the document only after the provider has signed.
- The client can see the provider's signature already on the document.
Removing a signatory
To remove a signatory before sending:
- Open the document.
- Find the signatory in the invitation list.
- Click Remove (or use the uninvite action).
warning
Removing a signatory also removes all signing fields assigned to them.
Signatory limits
Your plan determines how many signatories you can add per document:
| Plan | Signers per document |
|---|---|
| Free | 2 |
| Pro | Unlimited |
