Creating Blueprints

There are several ways to create a blueprint in Docu Ninja.

Create from a file upload

  1. Navigate to Blueprints.
  2. Click New Blueprint.
  3. Enter a name and optional description.
  4. Upload a PDF or document file.
  5. Use the editor to place signing fields on the document pages.
  6. Click Save.

The blueprint is now ready to use for creating documents.

Create from an existing document

If you have a completed document with a good layout:

  1. Open the document.
  2. Click Actions > Make Blueprint.
  3. The document's files and signing field positions are copied into a new blueprint.
  4. Give the blueprint a name and save.
tip

This is the fastest way to create a blueprint — just sign a document once with the right layout and convert it.

Create from the template editor

For documents you want to design from scratch:

  1. Navigate to Blueprints.
  2. Click New Blueprint.
  3. Select Design with Editor.
  4. Use the drag-and-drop template editor to build your document layout.
  5. Place signing fields where needed.
  6. Save the blueprint.

Use a pre-built design

Docu Ninja includes several pre-built designs with common layouts and signing field positions:

  • Plain — minimal design, focus on content
  • Clean — professional and readable
  • Bold — strong headings, clear structure
  • Modern — contemporary styling
  • Business — formal business layout
  • Creative — more expressive design
  • Elegant — refined and polished
  • And more...

To use a pre-built design:

  1. Navigate to Blueprints.
  2. Click New Blueprint.
  3. Select a design from the gallery.
  4. Customise as needed.
  5. Save.

Managing blueprints

Edit a blueprint

  1. Open the blueprint.
  2. Update the name, description, or signing fields.
  3. Save your changes.

Clone a blueprint

  1. Open the blueprint.
  2. Click Actions > Clone.
  3. A copy is created that you can modify independently.

Delete a blueprint

  1. Open the blueprint.
  2. Click Actions > Delete.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

Deleted blueprints are soft-deleted and can be restored from the archived view.

Bulk actions

You can perform actions on multiple blueprints at once:

  1. Select blueprints using the checkboxes.
  2. Choose an action from the bulk actions menu (archive, delete, etc.).
  3. Confirm.
